President & Founder, Live Wild Foundation

Hi there! I'm Shaelyn, but you can call me Shae. As the founder and President of Live Wild Foundation, my life's calling revolves around the conservation of wildlife and their spaces in Africa.

Growing up in the states, I was amazed with our animal world and wanted every part of it. Me and my younger sister were raised around numerous animals and of course Steve Irwin was no stranger to our living room TV. As I grew up, I would constantly bring home injured pets and nurse them back to health and loved being outside any chance I could get. I seemed to attract animals everywhere I went and knew my purpose had something to do with animals.

But you’re probably wondering, why animals? And why Africa?

Let me explain.

In the year 2018 I won a competition that would forever change my life. The competition allowed me to win a volunteer experience with the last 3 Northern White Rhinos in Kenya, Africa. I was able to work hands on with the keepers of the rhinos, train anti-poaching dogs and go on safari. After my experience I knew Africa was my forever home and my life would never be the same.

Fast forward to 2020, I decided that I would make my dreams a reality and began planning and building my non profit, Live Wild Foundation. Now, Live Wild Foundation is a reality and you can learn all about it by clicking here.

Im so grateful to be able to share my love and passion for animals with everyone while being an advocate for animal conservation. Thanks for coming along on my crazy ride.
